Francis Douglas Memorial College is located in New Plymouth in the province of Taranaki on the west coast of the North Island. The College was founded in 1959, and is owned by the Trust Board of the De La Salle Brothers in New Zealand. and caters for about 800 boys in Years 7-13. The College hostel has over 100 boys who board at the school on weekdays and return home on weekends.
The College has supported projects at La Salle Boys’ High School, Malkhanwala, near Faisalabad in Pakistan with funding raised through its Founder’s Day activities. The College donated $7,000 in 2019 and $15,000 in 2020. Teachers from De La Salle College have participated in the professional development program developed by the New Zealand Lasallian Mission Council for teachers in Lasallian schools in Papua New Guinea.
